Moscow. October 24, 2024. PhosAgro's ProAgro Lectorium, an online educational platform for foreign agrarians, has won the BRICS Solutions Awards 2024, an international competition held as part of the BRICS Business Forum.
The BRICS Business Forum was held on October 17-18 in Moscow. It brought together more than a thousand members of the business community from BRICS nations. PhosAgro took part in the forum's business program and in the annual meeting of the BRICS Business Council.
Among the forum events, was a ceremony honoring the winners of the BRICS Solutions Awards competition, which the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) co-runs with the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as other partners. The competition's main objective to develop a system of independent and multi-polar cooperation, to form best practices, and to create, improve and implement new technologies based on the unique needs and opportunities of the BRICS countries.
The competition received a total of 1343 applications from 15 countries. Winners were determined in 8 categories. PhosAgro's ProAgro Lectorium project was recognized in the Competencies and Staff Development category. This educational platform was launched last year in Russian, English and Portuguese, becoming part of PhosAgro's "From Ore to Food" educational program for Russian agricultural universities.
Sergey Katyrin, President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry: "Getting to know the best practices in your own country is a helpful and interesting thing that lets you learn and apply new effective solutions. Bringing in colleagues and partners from other countries, who show us how to solve certain issues and promote business, is, obviously very much worth it. I thank everyone who took part in the BRICS Solutions Awards competition, our colleagues, and the winners".
Svetlana Chupsheva, Director General of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives: "We are excited to welcome our dear friends, the participants and winners of the International BRICS Solutions Awards competition, to our country to the second time. When we first launched the competition in 2020 together with the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other partners, there were not that many applications. However, it was important for us to share the best practices in a wide range of fields with our colleagues. These practices focus on issues related to quality of life, the environment, technological development, and medicine and healthcare, among others."
Mikhail Sturkin, Deputy CEO for Sales and Marketing at PhosAgro: "As one of the world's leading fertilizer producers, we understand that no-one in the world can create a sustainable agricultural sector without relying on highly qualified personnel. That is why we, together with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, are implementing a training program for agri-business, which we call 'From Ore to Food', providing agrarians with free access to methodologically verified information. There are 47 agrarian universities involved in the program to date. With the creation of ProAgro Lectorium, our education ecosystem has progressively gone global. At the audience's disposal, is an impressive portfolio of 420 digitized video lectures on agronomy and agricultural chemistry, crop production and livestock breeding, innovation and digitalization in agriculture, economics, and responsible farming. These materials were created with the help of 140 speakers from 22 fields. ProAgro Lectorium has received the status of an official educational platform of the BRICS Business Council Agri-Business Working Group. Some of the lectures under the program are delivered by lecturers from China, India, Brazil, and other countries. Together, we can make a meaningful contribution to the planet's food security and the development of sustainable agricultural practices."
