Moscow – PhosAgro Group is ranked 398th in the Fortune 500 Europe 2023 ranking of Europe’s 500 largest companies by revenue, making it one of the top 10 Russian companies on the list.
This is the first time that Fortune, an authoritative American business magazine, has compiled such a ranking of European companies. The authors noted that since the region plays a key role in shaping the global business agenda and since the largest European companies are global leaders in their industries, it is important to devote a separate ranking to companies from this geographic area. The first issue of Fortune 500 Europe includes the largest companies in Europe from 24 countries. The magazine also publishes Fortune Global 500 lists as well as Fortune 500 lists, with the latter focusing on US companies.
Earlier, Forbes recognised PhosAgro as one of the 10 largest Russian companies by net profit; the list included a total of 100 companies.
“Our achievements in implementing our long-term development strategy and the successful implementation of our investment programme have been recognised by the business and investment community both in Russia and internationally. And this has been made very clear over the past month: in October, we were ranked among Russia’s 10 largest companies by net profit according to Forbes, and in November we were named one of the 10 largest companies in Russia by revenue according to Fortune 500 Europe 2023.
“In the future, we will continue to follow our chosen development strategy: we intend to invest more than RUB 250 billion in the next five years, which will enable us to maintain excellent production and financial performance. We have also occupied leading positions in ESG ratings and on lists of top employers, which reflects our commitment to social responsibility,” said Mikhail Rybnikov, PhosAgro’s CEO, commenting on the Company’s inclusion on the Fortune 500 Europe list.
